Colorado Anti-bullying Bill Signed into Law

Posted by:

Governor John Hickenlooper, arguably the most popular politician in Colorado, talked Friday about being so unpopular as a kid that he was chased, beaten up and forced to walk several blocks out of his way to get home without crossing paths with a coulpe of neighborhood “punks.”

“I grew up a skinny kid, I had thick glasses, and if I got pushed around, my glasses fell off,” Hickenlooper said before a large audience of students and community leaders at Lakewood High school.

“I was completely terrified. And when you’re worried about that for the last two hours of school, you’re terrified, you’re not going to learn.”

Hickenlooper, and several lawmakers, spoke about their experiences with bullying before he signed into law a bill to address it.
