You may notice more and more that the term, bodyguard, is being used less and replaced with the term, executive protection. Personally, I think that’s a good thing because the industry continues to evolve into a more sophisticated field. The term ‘bodyguard’ conjures up the 6 foot 6, 320 pound behemoth.
In this day and age, most Protection Specialists have received advanced training in one of several specialties. Many have extensive certifications and years of real-world experience. To simply refer to them as a bodyguard is insulting… although, there are big, brawny men, without training, who rely on their size to intimidate – now these you are welcome to call ‘bodyguard.’
