Anti-bullying laws are getting out of hand.

“There ought to be a law” you might be thinking. No there shouldn’t.

New Jersey recently passed an anti-bullying law that went into effect September 1st. This law is another example of an overreach by government to address what is essentially a basic human issue.

Under New Jersey’s anti-bullying law, children can report other children to the police for bullying behavior.

Colorado Anti-bullying Bill Signed into Law

Governor John Hickenlooper, arguably the most popular politician in Colorado, talked Friday about being so unpopular as a kid that he was chased, beaten up and forced to walk several blocks out of his way to get home without crossing paths with a coulpe of neighborhood “punks.”

Bullying: Dad Threatens Bullies

Despite an increase in anti-bullying legislation, bullying is not easing up. While administrators and advocates pass law upon law against bullying behavior, children continue to be bullied.

Bullying Laws: Effective or “Nanny” Legislation?

State legislators are working feverishly to jump on the bandwagon and pass “anti-bullying” laws.  While parents of victims express feeling some sort of satisfaction for the harm done to them and their deceased child, I feel these laws are nothing more then ineffective “nanny” legislation that won’t do much to reduce bullying, but will reduce our children’s ability to effectively handle aggressive behavior directed at them.
